Loss of the Early Morning General
In the early morning stands, atop a lighted hill,
A lithe but strong woman, prepared fully for battle,
Wearing armor of shimmering gold,
Over which is draped a fine white tunic,
Emblazoned with the symbol of the Sun in gold thread.
On a supportive arm is strapped a shield,
Displaying proudly, an engraved Sun.
In a gloved hand, a special blade is held,
A golden sword wreathed in flame,
Shining a lurid glow through the sky.
Her sky blue eyes reflect all she looks upon,
Constantly taking in everything around.
Her long shimmering blond hair,
Is held in place only by a thin ring of gold.
Atop a lighted hill, stands the heroine Mills.
This hill stands solemnly as a constant reminder,
A landmark to the people of the town below,
A quiet town troubled by a relentless tyrant.
The small town sleeps quietly unknowingly,
While the morning light seeps through their windows,
And the heroine stands looking over the small town,
It’s small, tranquil lake, and it’s dark and foreboding castle,
That absorbs light into its darkness.
High in a tall tower, watching, and plotting evil,
Waits a ravaged soul, thinking of,
A torturing scheme to throw at his people.
The malevolent warlock, cloaked in shadows,
Takes away, fair maidens to imprison,
High in the darkness, into the shadows.
From the solemn hill rides the heroine,
Intent on quelling the darkness,
That taunts the light with threats,
Threats to envelop the land in shadows.
Throwing open the tower door,
The light pierces the darkness,
Ascending up the stairs in a radiant stream.
In a lengthy conflict, the light and dark clashed,
Inflicting wounds so deep.
The conflict ended as the dark wizard,
Corrupted by his evil, shook the earth,
Sending a black jolt through the light,
As the light pieced the darkness,
With a golden beam, sent from a righteous hand.
At the horrible end, the darkness lay split,
And the light rested below the Earth,
And so, the people of the town were saved,
But at the cost of their heroine,
Whom they laid to rest on the solemn hill,
