Tunnel’s Open Jaw
February 11, 2009
When I drive, I’m free,
Like the wind.
I can go anywhere,
Nothing to stop me.
Sliding down side streets,
Hauling “A” on the highway,
Merging onto the freeway,
Circling the roundabouts.
Unhindered by anyone,
Untouched by others,
Afraid of nothing,
Except the monster.
His mouth is wide open,
Jaws spread,
The tunnel waits,
To swallow me in.
To master the road,
I must overcome my fear
And ride through his enclosed space,
To defeat the beast.
